Logo Designer

My chosen profession to discuss is a Logo Designer. This area of work tends to be more specified but just as free as the general web designer. Many Logo Designers are free-lance workers that get hired on a one-time basis for an individual company. The company that hires them would either want a redesign of their own logo or an entirely new style and design to complement their business.

The initial setup for a logo designer would be to meet with the determining committee that represents the company and find out what they want from the logo. There could be thousands of different requirements but the logo designer must take into account what is deemed necessary and what can be cut out. I know that this sounds all business but there is an element of fun with it too. The logo designer is free to make whatever he/she likes. The limit is whatever they could dream up. Generally, the designer would come up with at least three design concepts to show to the committee.

I want to continue in this field of graphic design because I found this to be a very fun form of design. I had to do research on the company that was assigned and then create a successful design for it. Since this work tends to be more free-lance than if I was under a design firm, it tends to come and go for a pay check. But I think that the work is fulfilling.
